About the Speaker:
The AI Safety Awareness Project is dedicated to helping the public understand the rapid advances in artificial intelligence and their implications for society. Their work focuses on raising awareness about both the opportunities and risks of powerful AI systems in order to foster a well-informed public and intelligent public discourse.

Discussion Topics

This session explores how rapidly advancing AI systems could shape our lives in the coming years. Through demos and discussion, we’ll examine questions such as:
  • The growing role of AI in scams, cybercrime, and misinformation.
  • The rise of AI companions and how they may affect human relationships.
  • How fast are AI capabilities advancing and how much does progress in AI automate further progress in AI?
  • Views of various experts on the long-term risks and opportunities of AI.

Participants will also see demonstrations of modern AI tools and discuss ways AI could change our daily lives in the next few years and further down the road.

No technical background is required—just curiosity about the future of AI.
