  • Location: Chicago North Shore (exact venue shared after you RSVP). We always go to venues that either serve or allow food to be ordered in.
  • Format: About 20 minutes of presentation, followed by 15–20 minutes of Q&A and discussion.

Bio

Matt Nicholls is a technology business veteran with 25 years in advanced technology across semiconductors, AI, renewable energy, and quantum computing. He is a VP for Business Development at IBM Research, where he works with government and commercial partners to advance technology. He is joining this event in a personal capacity, not representing his company.

Discussion

Matt will provide a general overview of semiconductor technology that underpins AI, innovations advancing semiconductors, and the emergence of quantum computing as a computing paradigm, including Chicago’s role in the quantum computing industry. Bring your questions for the discussion that follows.
