Nerds Like Me Initiation Event - April 17th, 2025
Hi everyone, Thanks again to those who weighed in—your survey responses made the decision clear:
Date: Thursday, April 17 at 7:00 PM (13 people selected this slot) Top location pick: Broken Tee, Highwood (most cited named venue)Post History
Cost Transparency I reached out to Broken Tee. Their private room comes with a $300 minimum spend and mandatory 20% gratuity, bringing the total to $360. With 13 folks opting for this date, that works out to about $27.70 per person. Please let me know ASAP if this is orthogonal to your expectations.
No upfront collection for now—just a heads up so no one’s surprised when a drink + app puts you squarely on target.
Volunteer Shoutouts Grateful to Joseph Targonski, Jason Yi, and Kris Walker for offering to help organize future. Feel free to email me directly when you’re ready to help shape what’s next!
Also, big thanks to Kevin Chaplin for volunteering to present at this first session—he’ll be demoing simple use cases showcasing product lifecycle: problem statement, design, build, test, deploy, monitor, maintain. Expect something useful, not salesy.
If no one else volunteers, I will put together a catered discussion topic around ‘talk tracks to support getting AI into product’ after Kevin’s demos.
Keep the Group Growing If you know someone who’d be into this, send them the form: 🔗 https://forms.gle/NEfiz2WPZGy7YhLd7
More voices = more signal = lower per/head cost
Looking forward to a meetup that’s sharp, practical, and not a waste of your Thursday night. I’ll follow up soon with final venue confirmation and format.
