His background spans engineering roles at companies like Provi and Test Double, as well as nearly five years at Dev Bootcamp where he rose from instructor to Campus Director. Kevin is an active contributor to the AI/ML open-source community, having worked on aisuite - a unified interface for multiple LLM providers - and volunteered as a Software Engineering Lead with DeepLearning.AI. He also organizes The Agent Loop, a Chicago meetup community dedicated to the evolving world of AI agents.

Discussion:
The Agent2Agent (A2A) protocol promises a future where AI agents can discover, communicate, and collaborate regardless of the frameworks they were built with. But what actually happens when an A2A request arrives?
In this talk we’ll go beyond the marketing diagrams and dig into the protocol itself. We’ll cover the core concepts of A2A v1, compare it with MCP, examine the major message and task types, and explore how discovery works through Agent Cards.
Using the Python SDK, we’ll follow the complete lifecycle of a request-from Agent Card discovery through request handling, task processing, and ultimately into the Executor implementation where your business logic runs. Along the way we’ll discuss practical implementation challenges, documentation gaps, and lessons learned while building an A2A integration.
The session includes a live demonstration of an A2A-enabled agent and real-world examples of agent-to-agent collaboration.
